Got Books? Need Books?

Greetings Titan Community!
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly assigned Principal of Tesoro High School. My name is Ken Ezratty and I look forward to working with all members of the school community to carry on the tradition of academic achievement and excellence. I am eager to join the Tesoro team and I am committed to building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and our community. Furthermore, as a parent I recognize the great responsibility educators are entrusted with in educating children and will strive daily to ensure that each student experiences success.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from UCSB and a Master’s Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. I hold both a Single Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University and an Administrative Services Credential from Chapman University. Education is in my blood; I am a third generation educator, married to a teacher, and one of my children is currently in college studying to be a teacher. I believe there is not a more noble profession and that teachers have a responsibility to get all students to realize and meet their full potential.
I have lived and worked in the CUSD community for almost 30 years. The first 15 years of my CUSD career was as a social science teacher at Dana Hills and Aliso Niguel teaching AP American Government and a variety of history classes, while coaching soccer, cross-country, volleyball and golf. The second half of my career started at Tesoro as an assistant principal where I was proud to support and witness the first group of students to spend four years and graduate from Tesoro. I returned to Aliso Niguel where I have served as a discipline and guidance assistant principal for the past 13 years.
I could not be happier that I am able to return to Tesoro as principal. I have wonderful memories of the year I spent at Tesoro and cannot wait to reconnect with the staff, students, and the community. Tesoro is an amazing school with a rich tradition of academic, athletic, and extra-curricular excellence while valuing high character and civic responsibility. I believe that providing our students with 21st Century skills, a safe and nurturing school environment, data driven instructional goals, and rigorous and engaging lessons will be critical in preparing every student for success.
As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input and collaboration. I look forward to getting to know each of you during the 2018-19 school year!
Have a great rest of the summer. Go Titans!
